Never Forget

Remember always that some gave all...

"It remains very much to be seen whether or not this nation will "long endure" as civilization's greatest exercise in personal liberty balanced by personal responsibility. Which is why the words of Abraham Lincoln on the constitutionally protected, individual-centric and equality-driven nature of that freedom - and the terrible, unfathomable and heartbreaking cost at which it comes - are just as meaningful, just as relevant today as they were nearly 150 years ago when they were first recited at Gettysburg.

Don't let the dead have died in vain. Use your freedom wisely. And have a safe and, hopefully, reflective Memorial Day weekend."

---Lieutenant Colonel Timothy G. Cook, MD

The Friday Flyby

As a friend and I were changing irrigation water in a far pasture yesterday evening, with a restless wind, under a thunder cloud sky, this piece came to mind...

Have a Good weekend.

Old Planes and Old Guys

I was outside this morning, working in the garden and what do I hear.  Nothing else sounds like one.   It can't be, but it was!   A beauty of a white Stearman circling the bunkhouse, after a while he flew off.   Then I see him again, being followed at a respectfull distance by an Ag Cat and two Air Tractors.  I don't know who he was, but he made my morning...
So I'm going into the weekend with this in mind...

Just A Thought

I know how extremely fortunate I am.  I have a loving family, a roof over my head, food in the pantry, good health, a garden, a pistola or two, a dog, books, a few friends, a ride that no one wants to steal, and a couple pair of cowboy boots...
What more could I possibly want,
well there is this...

Jiggady Jigg

Already missing the beautiful cool weather in the PNW.  After 1200 plus miles on the road this week I pulled into the driveway of the bunkhouse at 8PM last night and the temp was in the 90's.  Today it is hot with the North wind really howling...

Things have calmed down a bit, and I'm gearing up for the next go round...

Got to see some of my favorite mountains: Hood, Shasta, Diamond, St Helens, Rainer. and some of my favorite people.
