Packing out is coming along, though I have a lot more to do. My grandsons will come this weekend to help me load the heavy stuff in the trailer.

I've been notifying all the utilities, homeowners ins, banks, etc. of the cut off date for the house. PG&E,
homeowners ins., banks, city water & sewer, all were just a
simple phone call. When I phoned the garbage service to have it
stopped. They said "You have to come to the office to close out the
account and bring a copy of the DC, estate admin court ltr, and a photo ID."
"Seriously, to stop the, paid up in full, garbage service?"
"Yes."
Moving can be a hassle, but you have to laugh at some of the things that happen, and of course the oddest things tickle me.
One was the old gentleman who showed up on the "pickup your items day" for the estate sale items. When the barely ambulatory old gentleman showed up at the front door I thought he was most likely here to pickup some small lot. Nope, his wife had bought the huge, solid wood, heavy as hell, dry bar!
"Well ok, do you have help & a dolly to get it out of the house and loaded." I asked.
"I don't have a dolly, but my son is with me to help."
"Ah, well it's right in here, sir."
Then he introduced his son, a one legged fellow with a crutch...
