On the road again...

Had dinner on the river with Marymine and all the grandkids last night. What a fun bunch. Colt has such a quick dry whit, he had us rolling with laughter.

Packed up and ready to hit the road for RB to spend a couple weeks with my SIL & BIL while I have the cataract surgeries.
First eye surgery is a go for Thursday at 6:05 AM. Yeehaw!
Estate accountant called to let me know the tax filings are ready for me to sign and the final accounting has been given to the attorney to file with the court.
My brother has thrown everything he can think of at all of us, demand on top of demand, and in the process cost the estate money, and ultimately him money.  In the process alienating those who are only trying to get us through this in a correct and legal manner.  I have to hold my piece, just a little longer, and do what Dad asked me to do.

  1. So grateful my sister and I navigated this twice with no rancor. We've watched relatives tear their relationships apart and stayed estranged for years.

  4. Good luck on the surgery. Sad on your brother but he's lost more than money through his behavior :(

  5. Good luck with the eyeballs and sorry to hear about the family legal stuff. Being Executor I've been very lucky and happy that my siblings are not trying to intercede - my sister is Drama Queen enough, but she's decided to be invested in the outcome rather than the process, and that will enable her to retire.

  6. Wow you sure are busy. I think you'll be surprised just how easy your surgery is. My stepmother went through it 30 years ago and she breezed through it.

Your father put you in charge of all of this for a reason. Too bad your bother is showing EXACTLY why.

  8. I had cataract surgery a year or so ago. Very simple and ultimately life-enhancing. Good luck with it.

  9. You will be seeing a rainbow of colors after these surgeries are over. I'm sure all will go well and you will see so much more clearly.

  12. Hope your eye surgery went well - my wife had cataract surgery last week, a bit young at 42 for cataract surgery but her cataract was a side affect of retinal detachment and surgery from that. It went very well and was night and day different for her - and I was amazed at how quick the procedure is. Glad to hear it winding down on the estate - my wife's mother was executor on her mothers estate and the ensuing fallout lost her both her sisters - they were already rocky relationships before her death because she was the only one to take care of her mother but this put them over the edge - and the estate was settled exactly as her mother had wished, she was just doing what was requested - but her two sisters fought everything the whole way making the process unnecessarily painful for all. A sad ending to a family that used to be closer. Such is life

  13. Thank you all for your comments, i’m doing well! Surgery it’s self was fast, all the pre op stuff seemed to take forever. My bil&sil have been taking great care of me. One more eye in 10 days and then finishing up the estate and i’m out of here! Will be camping at bil & sil place on the Columbia river for a bit.
It is hard for me to have to depend on the help of others, so used to taking care of myself. But I know I’m blessed to have such great family & friend support!
I got an iPad and my learning curve is long.... so posts and comments maybe spotty for a while. Thanks again for your comments.
