On Sunday My Sean took a couple friends, their little girl, and his mom(me) up the Columbia to the Willamette River in his boat. (Let me tell you... the glare off all those white PNW sunbathers on shore was nearly blinding for someone who just had eye surgery.) We put in at Caterpillar Island boat ramp on the Columbia River and sped up to the Willamette and Portland. Good day on the water for sure.

Flying
to Sac tomorrow... Haven't flown commercial in quite a while! My suit case is too
big, off to Costco I went to get a carry-on. I'm putting Harley and Sig
Sauer stickers all over it, so no one messes with it or me. I don't
really think anyone wants to, but I live in hope.
Tried
to sign up for Uber today, ended up ordering a driver for this morning,
got that cancelled but now my phone is stuck on that cancel. I might
get it figured out before tomorrow. Yay, got it unstuck and rescheduled the Uber to the airport for tomorrow.
Willie
is going to the pet boarding spa (jail) while we are gone. Will take his
food, and blanket (which smells like home, dog, & chicken poop?) when I drop him off in the AM. Not sure he is going to like this, but we all have to suck it up at times.
Granddaughter Jacey drove down here yesterday in her jeep, and after Sean and J went to breakfast (father-daughter time) she and I went shopping for a dress for Nanny to wear to granddaughter
Lauren's graduation. We decided everything was too frumpy, flowerdy, and ended up
each getting a pair of Van's. It will be fine, I have clothes in the trailer, somewhere...

Sounds like you are having fun(-: The houseboats are nothing like the ones on Lake Shasta(-: Enjoy the graduation(-:
ReplyDeleteCiNdEe, I am having fun. There were some interesting houseboats, all very different styles. Graduation was fun!
DeletePretty pictures and hope you get to the airport!
ReplyDeleteChanges, Thanks, I made it in plenty of time.
DeleteSo nice to see you having fun, Brig. You've earned it!
ReplyDeleteAdrienne,
DeleteI am having fun, not sure I've earned it, but I'll take it!
Reminds me of how much I enjoyed living in the PNW for 18 years.
ReplyDeleteWell Seasoned, I have such a long list of things to do and see, things to learn, and take up again...
DeleteA perfect NW day, good to see you enjoying it. I gave up on the dress shopping for my grandgirl's graduation. Slacks and a nice blouse, dressy but comfy sandals though. You'll be lovely whatever you wear and what she'll remember is that you were there.
ReplyDeleteCelia, Enjoying the cool weather, for sure. Slacks and a nice top were the order of the day for graduation.
DeleteThe boat ride looks glorious! And so funny about dress shopping--I dreamed last night I was shopping for a dress for a wedding and had exactly the same problem!
ReplyDeleteGranny Sue, Being on the water was a blessing. Dress shopping is not my forte, that's for sure. I ended up wearing nice slacks and a top.
DeleteYep, enjoy the day, sunshine is NOT normal up there! :-)
ReplyDeleteOld NFO, It has been more sunny than not since I've been here. Haven't missed the high heat and bugs at all.
DeleteLooks like a beautiful day on the river :). I love the PNW.
ReplyDeleteRain, It was. I've always liked the PNW and think I could love it.
DeleteFabulous post, Brig! Perfect day in the PNW and yes, Omsi is the best. I'm missing my granddaughters in Portland and need to get up there! Enjoy the graduation. I cracked up about the stickers on your suitcase. Only problem with that is that the TSA will go through it...Maybe you ought to buy some little voodoo dolls (at Voodoo Donuts) and name them Sig and Sauer.
ReplyDeleteCheri, Thanks! If you get up this way we have to meet up! My cousin has the perfect airbnb in Portland to stay at, too. Graduation was very nice. Good to see all my Cali crew. Made it through TSA just fine. LOL, there was a fellow that boarded the plane just after I was seated that had a huge box of Voodoo Donuts as his carry on!
DeleteYou knew, you knew, I would have that map out didn't you. Thanks, it was fun following your boat trip.
ReplyDeleteWoodsterman, I did know... lol Glad you enjoyed the trip.
DeleteCatching up here as have been taking a break from blogging. Glad to read property sold with business wrapping up, successful eye surgery and Wandering Willie wandered back home. Hope all continues to go smoothly for you in your future adventures.
ReplyDeleteJoared, Glad to see you back. Smoothly would not be my first choice of words, but it sure as heck has been interesting. Thank you for the well wishes.
DeleteI can remember flying into Sacramento many a time. Over the rice fields, and when they were burning them off the visibility was very poor. I always figured that having flat ground below me in case the engine quit was some compensation.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your pictures. Don't know that I will ever get out that way again, but it's sure beautiful country.
Harry, In it's own way it's all beautiful.
DeleteThe kids and I were talking about what it was like when I was a kid, very different from today. Cali has not been kind to farmers & ranchers for quite some time.
