Didn't catch any Salmon, but we did catch a lot of these...
~~~
Wednesday, left the cold and rain of Vancouver, dropped Willie off at cousin's. Headed up the Gorge in Nate, with my old front door, door frame, Black Rifle coffee, snacks, wine, and a box of DVDs (for BIL & SIL hunting cabin in Sparta).
Another BIL & SIL from NorCal were at the River House. So good to see them, I haven't seen them in quite a while.
Us girls stayed up late playing Sequence (with wine), and catching up.
Thursday morning, while the other girls slept in, I got up at O dark thirty with the guys to get on the river for the morning bite.
Guess I should explain
that the river is only open for spring run (springer) salmon fishing
every other day. The 5th, 7th, 9th, and 13th of May!
We had no luck with the salmon, but saw a couple of other boats haul in a few. It was a beautiful morning on the river, anyway.
Back to the river house to pick up the girls, then back to the river. Fished for a couple hours with sporadic bites, and a few walleye, and bass caught.
Friday morning, NorCal BIL & SIL left for the trip home to Cali.
We went back out walleye fishing and caught a bunch.
There is always something to see on the river.
Friday afternoon, drove back home, with a bag of walleye fillets to take to my Sean's on Sunday.
Enjoy some for me!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous scenery and wonderful fish.
Family. God bless you all. 🙂
Linda, Thanks, Praying things are going better for you and the family.
DeleteLooks like you had a great day!!!(-:
ReplyDeleteI did, but my NorCal BIL & SIL got there before me and took My Bedroom! So I ended up in the other bedroom on a twin... It was funny, I teased my SIL about that. Give no quarter in this outfit!
DeleteThat photo of the moon over Mount Hood took my breath away! What a beautiful place to be. And all that fish! I'm so jealous.
ReplyDeleteThanks, wish I had better camera skills. It was more spectacular in person.
DeleteGlad you got out and had some fun (and food to bring home)!
ReplyDeleteAlways a good time with that bunch.
DeleteSuch a wonderful place to spend time.
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteGot some great looking fish, Brig!
ReplyDeleteThanks, we all caught walleye, and my BIL fillet them, to share with our kids.
DeleteNice fishing trip. My inner voice tapped on my should and said, "Walleye and eye wall mean completely different things."
ReplyDeleteI desperately need to get out of the house and get some human interaction. :)
Thanks for taking us along with you.
It was so good to spend time with family, and be on the water!
DeleteNone of us are buying into the spacing or stay home thing. It's a crock as far as we free Americans are concerned.
Example of the stupid restrictions, gov docks and camp grounds are closed. State docks open but camp grounds closed. Nearly all rest stops closed. Which means people in larger numbers in confined areas.
You're most welcome John.
You did good catching all those fish and had fun too. Wonderful to see the osprey and nest, what a treat.
ReplyDeleteThose Osprey have nested there for years. There were chicks in the nest being pretty vocal about wanting food.
DeleteBeautiful country and good on the family and the fishing.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful place in it's own way, and it's always good to spend time with family.
DeleteYou're getting to be a real fisher"person". LOL.
ReplyDeleteIs it a bad sign when you start hunting different lures???
DeleteHi Brig, Really enjoyed those photos. Great sunny day. Glad you were able to see your Cali relatives. Love to you.
ReplyDeleteCheri, so good to hear from you! Glad you enjoyed the photos.
DeleteDoes Willie enjoy his time with the cousin?
ReplyDeleteWillie loves her. She cooks him eggs & bacon for breakfast, and gives him special holistic dog treats. He has the run of the back yard and a place to lay out in the sunshine. I keep thinking he isn't going to want to go home. But, so far when I open the door to the back seat and say "load up" he's in like a flash...
DeleteWalleye! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lotta fun. Beautiful.
It was a lot of fun.
DeleteHope you get to try a Johnson's Beetle in your neck of the wilderness.
Thanks for stopping by.
Will try it out...
DeleteThe worst day fishing is better than the best day working, Brig!
