We had a wedding in the extended family. I went to the Sisters, OR ranch venue with My Sean. We do well road trip'n together. Sean even said on the way back that I was the best road trip'n partner cause there is fun but no drama with me, lol.
None of the social distancing, mask wearing stuff for us. Hugs and kisses were plentiful all around.
A great time was had by all.

I'm going to be a GREAT grandma in December, thanks to granddaughter Ali and her hubby, Tyler.
It has been a while since we had a baby in the family, and I'm really looking forward to this new chapter. They had the gender reveal the other day, and it's a girl!

The contractor removed my enclosed deck from the front of the hovel when they resided the unit. I own the inside, the HOA owns the outside. There will be landscaping done to the whole complex when all the units are completed. In the mean time, I planted a garden in that mini space.
Tucked in around the zinnias, are a bell pepper, two tomatoes, a cucumber, a patty pan, a yellow squash, and a zucchini. There are bush beans, cilantro, & basil growing on the tiny back patio. One zucchini plant, and I'm already freezing them for zucchini bread this winter. But mostly leaving them on neighbors doorsteps and running...

Gardening in the wet side of the PNW is much easier than most places.
ReplyDeleteThere has been a bit of a learning curve, with my coming from clay soil and 105' summers.
DeleteGlad you all enjoyed the wedding! (-: Congrats to you and your family on your new addition!
ReplyDeleteWe all had a great time, got to hug family we hadn't seen in a while, drink champagne, and dance!
DeleteThanks for the congrats.
"I own the inside".. I love that truth!
ReplyDeleteYep, free and clear.
DeleteNo masks, no gloves, no goggles, no gowns, no elbow shakes, you're all doomed, Brig...
ReplyDeleteLOL, I'm sure there are those that wish it so, but we are a damn hardy bunch, and will not go easy...
DeleteGood on ya, Brig.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to 'Great Grandparents' land.
Thanks Skip, I am really excited!
DeleteYou can also wrap the zucchini in the gift wrap you've been saving and leave them in public areas.
ReplyDeleteJust saying.
We've been cutting ours into half inch thick planks and grilling them after a bit of olive oil and seasoning basting.
Tasty and good texture.
I'm not in the cilantro camp.
The wedding looked like fun, and fun has been in somewhat short supply lately. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the gift wrap tip, I will have to give that a go.
DeleteI don't have a bbq yet, actually not allowed in the complex. But I see a lot of them around, so... it's on my list to do. Mostly I saute three varieties of squash, tomatoes, & onions in butter. Not a big fan of cilantro either, except for mex dishes.
What a uplifting post....thanks for sharing and your little garden is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteChanges, Thank You, I'm glad you liked my post. It started out with a plethora of negative and then I figured we all get bombarded with negative stuff and I would much rather focus on the positives.
DeleteAren't you too young to be a Great Grandma? Happy days are ahead!
ReplyDeleteWoodsterman, I'm old enough for a lot of things, and Great Grandma is one!
DeleteReally looking forward to having a baby in the family!
Congrats on the fun times and new baby! You've got the place looking GOOD!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim, Now if I could just get motivated to get the place painted, but I'm easily distracted by the "come go fishing with us" crew...
DeleteYour garden is beautiful. Nice to have positive things with a wedding and a baby on the way. Life goes on.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rain. Life goes by so fast, let's enjoy the positives!
DeleteHi Brig! Just getting to my Reader and seeing these sweet photos. Congrats all around and especially on becoming a great grandmother. Wow!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, stay safe and don't panic as is famously written on the cover of the most famous every book. I'm gonna give douglas adams another few hours of my time tonight.
