Here I am starting a new year, trying to bloom where I'm planted. Really need to cut back on the cooking, and to get motivated to finish a bunch of projects.
Combat yoga is calling my name, again, but I seem to be going a bit deaf.
All my crew are well and busy. My great grand baby is doing well. Photos after I get down there to see her in person.
MySean came and spent Christmas Day with me. He gifted me with a new copy of a much cherished book that I had loaned him. It somehow disappeared from his place.
He then had the unmitigated gall to ask if he could borrow it (again)... "NOPE"! "LOL" It has since gone to be read by a BIL & SIL, who have along with me, shared history of places, and will return it.
Dogs are fine, and have come in mighty handy for the two dog nights we've had of late.
Only had to wear the hated mask of oppression once last year when I went to the eye doc for a glaucoma test. Doc greeted me with a big smile and "There's Trouble!" Obviously, he remembered me from past encounters.
Happy New Years.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Ed, keep up the good work.
DeleteThank you :)
Delete"There's Trouble!" Obviously, he remembered me from past encounters.
ReplyDeleteMust like you to give you a personal greeting.
He was friendly, not sure what brought that on as I'm not his most well behaved patient...
DeleteI HATE the stupid masks... that said, HAPPY NEW YEAR.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Padre!
DeleteBeen getting cold enough at night that the dog hops up on the bed and snuggles between us.
ReplyDeleteAnd I finally got off my duff and started cleaning up and reorganizing the basement electronics/RC car workshop. When I looked at the bench for space to fix something for my Sweet Little Wife, and saw four distinct, separate projects "In Progress", I told myself to hit the brakes and clean things up before I started losing pieces. So now the bench is cleaned and organized, and since I also cleaned and organized the storage shelves I have, the floor is now clean, too.
I only wear The Mask of Oppression when required to. Seeing someone out walking their dog and wearing one is ludicrous, same as wearing while driving. Hmmmm....maybe a new level of stupidity there: WWD = Wearing While Driving.
Hope the coming year is peaceful and prosperous for you, Brig!
Wishing you a blessed New Year!
DeleteI don't go where the Mask of Oppression is required. Have been asked a couple times over the last year if I wanted to put on a Mask of Oppression when entering a business. I just say no, I won't wear a Mask of Oppression, and their response has been... Oh Okay! and they let me go about my shopping or whatever. If they were to say you can not enter without a mask, I would leave.
So nice to get a update from you and that you are well. Hope the New Year is a good one for you and yours.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope this New Year treats you kindly.
DeleteI'll have to check that book out. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
DeleteIt's been a mix between not finishing projects, and lacking enough motivation to start them.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, we have been putting tools away when we complete something, and that makes a world of positive change in the usually messy basement.
Motivation has left the hovel for the moment. I look forward to it's return in the not too distant future.
DeleteHave to laugh it must be a gene thing or some such about tools. The Cowman didn't have it and neither does my daughter. MySean and I have it in spades. There is a place for everything and everything needs to be in it's place or returned there immediately after use...
Glad things are looking up! :-)
ReplyDeleteI firmly believe attitude has a lot to do with how one looks at things.
DeleteHappy New Year!
I am impressed with your son finding that book for you after I went looking for it online lol
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, I should have messaged you about that. Far as I know it's only available through the Red Bluff Bull & Gelding Sale office or at:
DeleteThe Loft (upstairs at Reynolds Ranch & Feed Store)
501 Madison St, Red Bluff, CA 96080
(530) 529-5638
The book is of interest to us as it gives a history of ranch people and places in S Oregon, N Nevada, & N Calif that we have history with.
I found that also and sent them an email for info on if they still had it. It'd be interesting to me for the same reason. I have a lot of history books from that region always have loved it. Maybe they'll respond to the email :)
DeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, CiNdEe! Praying the North state is blessed with rain to grow the grass.
DeleteHappy (late...) New Year!
ReplyDeleteNo worries, Padre. Happy New Year!
DeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR!
ReplyDeleteHey Scott, Happy New Year!
DeleteNice that you can actually shop without a mask. Here in the Bay Area, you cannot enter a business without one on. Let's hope for a better year, Brig. Happier New Year!
ReplyDeleteCheri, There is only one shop that I can't enter without the mask of oppression. I don't go there anymore.
DeleteIt's going to be an interesting year, not giving up or knuckling under...
