Oktoberfest 2019

"In the heart of Oregon, Mount Angel's Oktoberfest brings 350,000 people to the Bavarian village every September. The Northwest's oldest and best loved Folk Festival, celebrates the fruits of the harvest, and the goodness of Creation! There is something for everyone at the Mount Angel Oktoberfest."

My BIL & SIL & I went on Thursday, and spent the whole day.  Beautiful weather, friendly people, wonderful food, and beer. What more could one want.

Nice young men, and beer...

Dancing, and beer...

Singing about beer, with beer...

 Contests, with beer...

The annual photo, without beer...

As we started to walk back to the car I caught sight of this elevator over watching the events.

    1. Linda, My SIL is good friends with one of the families that provide musical entertainment, so it was that much more fun. Thank you for the blessing.

    1. Woodsterman, I might have overdone it with the beer comments. As far as I can remember I only had three or was it four...

  3. And doing it with an understandable language is even better... Drunk Germans trying to speak English doesn't work well, trust me...

    1. Old NFO, Didn't run into any drunk Germans, and I didn't see the chicken dance hat guy from last year. There was another ol fellow dancing in the isle. It's fun when people are having a good time.

  6. being a rural Badger, I love elevators. They radiate agriculture! Especially the ones in Duluth/Superior!

    1. Padre, It was for sure! There are retreats at the abbey, and I'm thinking that might be interesting as well.

  8. Fun times! Although I'd find that many people kinda daunting. But looks like a great festival.

    1. Granny Sue, It was fun! We went on the first day so it wasn't as crowded. All the food booths are local non profits, and the food was yummy.

This was always an event for me.

My family owned a farm to the north outside of town..., just to the west of the cemetary. Where my great and grand .....and my mother are buried.

an interesting side note....the navigator of this B17 was from this little town....https://398th.org/History/Articles/Remembrances/Ostrom_FortressHome.html

an amazing story...there is a display at the Evergreen Museum

    The pilot was from Corvallis
