New windows, doors, and siding are being installed on the hovels. In order to stay out of the way... and at the request of my BIL & SIL I went up the gorge to the River House.
Willie stayed with my cousin in Portlandia to help in the garden.

Since we were out there, might as well try for some food.
We caught nine walleye, so I brought home enough fillets to keep a few of my neighbors in the hood happy.
The one sturgeon was about 7 ft, 150lbs, and we released it. It started to tire me out after the first 30 minutes. But, lots of fun to catch and get to the boat on 5# test! What beautiful prehistoric fish they are.

Lovely photos. I miss access to the Gorge as we used to do it quite lot during the winter especially. This year we are not heading back to Oregon unless our son needs us there and likely that will be just Ranch Boss as it's not a good time to travel and our son needs the farm to live.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the photos. All of the Gorge is beautiful in it's many forms. Hope all is well with you and yours.
DeleteThat's what I should be doing.
ReplyDeleteAre you snowed in? Such a crazy time!
DeleteGood times and making the best of a bad situation. What's NOT to like! PLus fish!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm very blessed to have family that looks out for one another, and are avid hunters and fishermen.
DeleteGood for you, my son and a few grandkids out there yesterday farther east up by McNary. Only got one but what a lovely way to spend the day.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful couple of days, now back to rain and hail.
DeleteYour sacrifice takes my breath away!
ReplyDeleteLOL, yeah right!
DeleteCongratulations on the fish! Definitely great eating. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are so mild, best fish tacos ever!
DeleteNow that's the way to quarantine! Nice catch too.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good way to speed time away from all the goings on in the city.
DeleteSo glad you have this options and is better than sitting home alone. Great catch!
ReplyDeleteGive me country any day! It is way better than being stuck in the city, for sure.
DeleteWhat great photos! And very jealous of your water, puts my part of the Brazos to shame... congrats on the Walleye and Sturgeon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Padre. If you get out this way, we can sure arrange some time on the Columbia.
