Wednesday started out warm and sunny with a few white clouds drifting by on a gentle breeze.
Willie got a nail trim at the dog spa just down the street. Usually I trim his nails but it was time to have it done by someone that does a better job than I do.

| There are eleven dogs in this photo... |
They are a busy place, but they do take walk-ins for nail trims. Willie was excited, the crew in doggie day care not so much. They've seen it all.
After we got done there, we went next door to the dog store and got Willie a new seat belt. Now he won't be all over the place while I'm driving.
We loaded up and headed out to Brush Prairie to the dog park.

They have a nice off leash dog park there. Willie got to meet a couple of other dogs, and run and run and run while I jogged the trails.
Just down the street from the dog park is a working dairy
| yes, I am still playing with the photo app |
and across the street from the dairy is the

Time out in the country was what we both badly needed.
After we got done with that, on the advice of Old NFO, we decided to try out Chick-fil-A. Neither one of us had been there before and this seemed to be a day of firsts. Service was great and the food was pretty darn good, for chicken!
Though the day ended with thunder and lightening and lots of rain...

all in all it was a dog gone good day...

Jogging? Just the thought makes me tired, but bravo for you that you still can do it!
ReplyDeleteWSF, I'm not very good at jogging, but enjoy it.
DeleteGlad you had a blessed day. :-)
ReplyDeleteLinda, I did, it was so go to get out in the country!
DeleteLove the names you use. i grew up in Fern Prairie :)
ReplyDeleteRain, Fern Prairie, is only about 14 miles south of Brush Prairie, but I guess you would know that huh...
DeleteMy Wolf Chow, Sophie, gets a "Spa Day" every 8 - 10 months -- shampoo, trim, and nails.
ReplyDeleteThe shampoo had a different scent the last visit, and when I brought her home, her running mate, Tiko the Great Pyr, didn't recognize her.
He followed her around the house with his nose as close to the base of her tail as she'd allow. I let them out to the back yard, and she selected a spot and squatted to pee.
As soon as she walked away, Tiko stuck his nose into it and I could almost see the little light bulb in his head light up, because then he knew who she was.
scamorama, LOL, how confusing for Tiko. A friend runs herds of brush goats and he has Great Pyrenees as guards. Wonderful dogs!
DeleteThe lemonade is quite tasty, there!
ReplyDeleteSCOTT, Thanks for the heads up, I will give it a try next time!
DeleteI am a huge fan of chic-fil-la. Been going since back in the 70s and I am never unhappy. I hope it's not as hot where you are as it is here. heat index close to 100. That is hot.
ReplyDeleteLatane, It is cool and rainy here in Vancouver. Supposed to get up to a "scorching" 76 this weekend. One of the things I like about living in the PNW is the cool weather. I haven't missed the months of 100+ in Red Bluff one bit.
DeleteI haven't been to a Chic-fil-A as yet. Something about a slab of chicken breast just doesn't do it for me. I've looked at the menu for chicken salad and can't find it. Of course In-N-Out Burger is just down the street.
ReplyDeleteWoodsterman, As you know I'm a BEEF eater, but Chic-fil-a was good. They quit making the chicken salad in 2017... here is the recipe:

Oh! In-N-Out burger & their animal fries is one of my favs!
I always wondered who belonged to the illuminati. Mr. Frank's confirmed my suspicions. As for Chick-Fil-A, their cobb salad is one of the best things going. I'd rank it with up there with any restaurant salad. Also: they have diet lemonade that's really good. The secret to their lemonade is that they fresh-squeeze the lemons every day, and don't use a drink mix. I try and keep myself away from their frosty lemonade and frosty limeades, but in the summer they're a wonderful combo of lemonade/limeade and ice cream.
ReplyDeleteNow, if you'll excuse me, I think I have an appointment with their franchise down the street...
shoreacres, I've deleted Mr Frank's comment as it's my blog and I feel strongly that he needs for illumination...
DeleteThanks for the Chick-Fil-A recommendation. The cobb salad does sound good.
Nothing wrong with that! :-)
ReplyDeleteJim, it was a good day, for sure.
