Miss B... UPDATE #2

July 2, 2019
Early this morning, my granddaughter Miss B is at Shriner's Childrens for major surgery on her legs.  They have the operating room reserved for seven hours...
If you have a moment to send a prayer for a successful surgery and a smooth healing process in the long weeks ahead, I would be most grateful.

UPDATE:  Miss B is out of surgery after nearly 7 hrs! I won't go into details of what the surgeries entailed, but they were all major. She is still a bit loopy (I think that runs in the family though, so I should say loopier than normal).

Thank you all for the prayers! She is doing well!

UPDATE#2  July 3, 2019 Got to take Miss B on a couple spins around the unit, with Jacey handling the meds tree.

Transfers were a little tough, but she hung in there. Gently stroking her forehead seems to calm her. (I've used that technique on the kids & grands for years. Hasn't failed me yet.)
She has a prime view for the Fourth of July Fireworks on the Willamette River from her room.

  8. I missed the prayer for the surgery also. Praying for a full recovery, and for all her family. I hope this turns into a blessing for her, such things often do, although it doesn't seem like that's possible at the time. Fortunately, she has a good grandma.

    1. scamorama, I'm thankful that she came through the surgery so well. Going to have a long wait for photos of jogging though, she is looking at close to SIX MONTHS before she is fully mobile.

    2. She'll beat that 6 months. You just watch.
      I believe.

  13. Oh, my. I just came here, and found the news. I'm so glad she's out of that long surgery, and doing well. I'll pray for an uncomplicated recovery -- one that's as speedy as possible. I might even include some prayers for a family (and a grandma?) who have to be worn by worry, too.

  15. She looks tough but beautiful. She clearly needs some summer reading material. I do hope that what was wanted was what came to pass.
