Imagine wandering through the latest maize at
with my cousins
on a beautiful fall day...
We went on Monday, because it is less crowded. Visited with the critters, browsed the market & the gift shop, and ate burgers from their home grown beef.
The Maize is huge 7+ acres, and the corn is high.

We told stories of our dads (our dads were brothers) and their many misadventures when we were kids, as we navigated! We laughed, and walked, and laughed some more. We only got turned
around a few times, and managed to get through the whole thing traveling 5+ miles in about
an hour an a half. Surely a record for three ol ladies.
Amazing! Both the maize and your time! What a great adventure. Wishing I had family closer that would do something like this with me.

ReplyDeleteIt is very tall corn. There were a few cobs with the husks removed, I think by people that didn't realize it is field corn and not sweet corn...
DeleteI've never walked a corn maze -- but it looks like wonderful fun! I'd be afraid of getting lost inside that thing; it's a big one! I presume they send someone through at the end of the day to make sure no one's still stuck inside with no way to get out!

DeleteThe field across the street from me to the west is owned by a farmer with AGCO combines, which have CAT engines. The farmer across the street to the south had Deere. Soon, the air will be filled with the sound of CAT and Deere diesels! I love watching combining operations, and the smell of harvested cornfields!
