Going forward, slowly...

They are putting in new windows, doors, and siding on the hovels (condos). The new metal roofs went on last fall.  In the process they have removed the front deck, deck roof, and fence. Now to find a home inside for the things I had stored out there.  Challenging, but not impossible.

I wanted to see the architect's elevations to get an idea of what it will look like when they finish.  Not having a lot of luck with that. According to the workman that is ripping out the decking, the HOA board president has bought close to 15 of the units and wants everything removed from the outside. This so the complex looks uniform and neat. I get that, but as an owner, I would still like to see what the (his) vision is for the complex.

I'm staying in, reading all the books that I had stashed, and painting the inside of the hovel.  Lots of crafty things are waiting to be done, and waiting, and waiting.
Willie has been his usual grumpy self, and gives me the stink eye when I turn off his Hallmark movies.

Some of my flowers are starting to bloom in spite of all the rain and hail storms of late.

I'm not meant to be a towne, I'm meant to be in the back of beyond, where I can have family gatherings, a real garden, chickens, a pack of dogs, and a horse or a mule.  I'll get back there, it's just taking longer than I thought...

    1. Thanks Padre, keep us in your prayers to the big guy that we get to the other side of this in one piece.

  3. One advantage of renting is being able to move at the end of the lease. I'm not a good towne either.

    1. Renting I've done before, and it just chapped my hide that the rent money provided no return on investment for me. Plus I've had landlords that decided to keep all the deposit, even though I left the place much better and cleaner than it was when we moved in.

    1. Not as busy as I should be to stay out of trouble though, lol.
The management co for the HOA didn't have copies of the elevations either, WTH, so they are getting them too, and sending copies to me!
Willie loves Hallmark movies, he watches them nearly every night while I read upstairs. He gets a bit testy if I turn it all off before he thinks I should, weird dog...

  7. Flowers and Willie are cute. I have never lived with an HOA. It has to be challenging. We redid all our windows this year and glad we are since we will be at the AZ home during the summer-- not what we planned. Thank you Covid-19.

    1. Since you are in AZ, might be a bonus, heat kills the virus.

  8. That Willie! He's so stinking cute. I have tried to imagine living in town, and i just can't. We kept talking about moving to somewhere more convenient but every time we see a possible place there's a problem--houses too close, road too close, basically people too close. I doubt we're going anywhere until it's absolutely necessary.

  9. Sounds like that trailer needs to be put somewhere, if you still have it. I hope that HOA President doesn't mess things up for you.

I know, in my state, HOAs can't have closed meeting and must share their intentions. But, I'm sure you know that there's always a power hungry SOB in there somewhere. He's practicing to be a Presidential Candidate on the democrat side.

    1. I sold the trailer, so that's not an option.
The HOA does give owners the chance to comment for a very short period during meetings... but since they haven't had any meetings for months! They are scheduled to have an on line meeting later this month, so we'll see what happens. The management co for the HOA doesn't have the elevations either, WTH, they are now trying to get them and will send me a copy. Some headway being made...
