True words, and a goal for all of us as parents to live up to... Sadly, today it seems many don't care about honor or the example they set!
I thank God every day for sending Ron to our family. He inspired and encouraged the grandsons in a way they will never forget or let go of. He was "one of a kind" and perhaps a dinosaur but they admired, respected and learned from him lessons that will never be forgotten and they acknowledge that often. I was fighting so hard in the workplace for equal rights for women and wanting to make a place for my daughter while hoping my son would have a place as well. Never dreaming I would be squeezing him out and my grandson's futures. Thankfully grandpa Ron came along and taught them how to hold on.
The sad truth is that the example many parents set for their children speaks so loudly that the children can't hear what they're saying.
OLD NFO: May be many, but not all! GRANNY ANNIE: Thank you for the glimpses of your wonderful Ron.LL: Then, Thank God for grandpas that know the code, and pass it forward.ODIE: Keep on!
It's not the six boys I got, its that one girl - she is scary!
RACE BANNON: Thanks for commenting. Any girl with 6 brothers should be scary good.
That is perfect. My grandson watches me intently. He mimics and copies me. He looks to me to show him how to be a man, something he desperately wants. It's an awesome responsibility, one that both scares and challenges me. I pray I can do the job the way he needs me to.
SIX: I can't think of a better role-model than you. Blessed be.
