No country for ol women...

Spa girl job at my brother & sister-in-law's ends today,

as well as veggie pick'n, strawberry eating, garden weeding,

 and chicken feeding.

"Little Brick Chick House"

Hank & I are going to miss our daily trips out to Ft McCoy.

"Always looking for Adventure"

This is only one of many wood stacks.  My BIL is a former Marine and retired SO detective, can you tell he is also a neat fanatic! It's one of the many things we all love about him.

Still trying to get a handle on the yard here, was out there bright and early the other morning fixing irrigation lines and brush whacking. Kept telling myself, if I get this one more thing done then I'll go in... couple hours later, sweat was pouring off me, and I realized the occasional drink from the hose wasn't cutting it so I went inside. It was 10:30 AM and the temp read 103. Have had a bad heat headache for the last couple days, my own fault, I know better.

My RB weather forecast for the next week:

Weather forecast up at MySean's for next week:

Just a couple hundred more things to take care of here, and I'm on my way North for a visit.

Getting Hotter...

Book club last night at my SIL's, her garden is going gang busters, so she served stuffed zucchini. You know how that goes, it's a finger size zuc one day and the next it's huge! Lots of discussion on the book, lots of wine, lots of stories told, and lots of laughter. Got to see her new swim spa! She tore up a shoulder beginning of last year, had surgery in the fall, and is still doing lots of PT to try to get as much back as possible. The swim spa is helping.

The wedding is tomorrow, the wedding isn't in RB, but still in N Calif. This is what both locations are looking at for weather thru next Friday...

Snap shot was taken this morning, we are at 100 degrees now.

With the fuel load we have, the heat, and the North wind that is blowing, fire danger is HIGH. Most fire lines are in around here, but not all, and with the North wind blowing...

Rising moon...

Those two weeks of spring we had are now over and we are rapidly approaching the days of
as it is supposed to start hitting the century mark on the thermometer this week.
I should be in the mountains where I belong in summer. Some day I will be again, even if it is only as ashes on a hillside over looking a meadow at the headwaters of the Wood River.

Right now I'm looking forward to another kayaking adventure. This one a "full moon on the lake" trip, with one of the sister-in-laws and her church group.  I know, I know... me, a church group, full moon, what could happen right!  It will be fine, I'll wear my floating rosary beads...
