Dragon butt...

Was seriously dragg'n butt this morning trying to make early mass and then the first Sunday of the month KoC pancake breakfast. An aside, there were no mimosas hidden in the orange juice pitchers this time. I might know this because I might have sampled a little out of each one.

You remember me telling you I keep tabs on Dad's GF, a couple posts back right, well Sat. night at 9:30 PM (she is a night owl) I called to check on her.  Bless her heart, I wasn't able to get a word in edgewise long enough to say good night until almost 1:30 AM. She doesn't know it, but she's a heck of a motivator... I got all the grout in the kitchen counters and tile floors scrubbed clean, the living room, den, & dining room dusted, the floors mopped, glass tables polished, and touch up painting in the master bedroom done during that time.

  2. Holy Cow! I need to talk to her? I need some motivation!(-: Although I am asleep by 9:30 usually. I wake up at 5am. Are you selling your house? We just now got my Mom's on the market. I hope it sells quickly. Did I mention I hate probate? Ugh!

    1. CiNdEe,
She sure has some stories to tell, and can remember things from years ago, like what dress she wore to some function...!
I wake up early, out of habit and the fact that I like the early morning time.
We will be selling, probably later in the year or next spring. Have to get through probate and a couple other bumps in road first.
I hope your mom's house sells quickly, the guys here say houses are moving well. A neighbor's elderly mom & dad put their house on the market,(a 50's ranch style). Neighbor was afraid they were asking way too much... sold for full price the second day on the market. Will keep my fingers crossed that yours moves as well.

  3. Wow! That's a pile of work done. My feelings tend to work themselves out with a lot of midnight scrubbing. Hugs to you. No mimosas, poo!

Don't be too impressed, it doesn't happen often enough!
Might have dozed off during mass...

  5. What happened with the cessation of mimosas? How do the Knights expect to get people out to the pancake breakfast?

    1. LL,
I know! I was going to ask the Knights what the heck, but the elderly couple I was setting with didn't look like the type to appreciate it.
Just realized that the elderly couple where probably the same age as me, lol...

  6. You made her day and your Dad is smiling. Keep her on speed dial for when you have work you need to do.

You would get a kick out of her, too!
Her favorite starter seems to be "I probably shouldn't tell you this... Oh what the heck..." (and she's off and running with another tale)

  10. Butt, did Dad's GF hear all the power tools you were using?

    1. Woodsterman,
LOL, I am blonde, but I am also danger savvy enough to not use power tools while on the phone...

  11. I take it there was a speaker phone involved in all this. I've never used that approach, but it might be worth thinking about. First, I'll check to see if my old flip phone has a speaker...

Honestly, I'm not a phone chatter. After about ten minutes, my interest starts to flag. You have my utmost admiration!

    1. shoreacres,
Actually I just packed the phone around with me. I'm not big on phone chatting either, need to be doing something constructive, so I just listen and get on with it.
