I love riding -- a lot -- and had a Thoroughbred for a couple of years. Fast as you like and twice as insane. I think Quarter Horse gelding's the way forward...
LSP: I too love to ride. We have had some awesome Quarter horses, and one 17 hand 3/4 Thoroughbred... his story is here: http://brighidsplace.blogspot.com/2009/04/sunshine-wash-dry.html
Liked that! And what nostalgic images! I wrangled horses in Oklahoma when I got out of college. Hard work-- but made for a great summer!
ReplyDeleteSure sounds great to me. I miss those days.
ReplyDeleteIt's been some time since I've been on a horse. I'd need to buy a proper hat to keep from being laughed at.
ReplyDeleteJENNY: How exciting, and it is hard work! I like Dave Stamey songs...
ReplyDeleteARKANSAS PATTI: Yep, I don't get to do them nearly often enough either.
LL: I don't wear one any more, because I know they would "all hat, no cattle" me in a heart beat...
B, no one "all hat, no cattle"s a Viking! :) Not if they know what's good for them!
ReplyDeleteJENNY: LOL...ya think!
ReplyDeleteIf you rode a quarterhorse while wearing a viking helmet (with horns), tongues would wag in your town.
ReplyDeleteLL: Wouldn't be the best of ideas here... we have a lot of bull shippers.
ReplyDeleteBrig- That makes sense, you live in cattle country...
ReplyDeleteLL: I sure do and when the N wind blows I'm down wind...

ReplyDeleteMore hats, please.

ReplyDeleteSigh... Memories... GOOD memories... And yeah, I'd love to see you ride through town with a Viking helmet on... Hehehe
ReplyDeleteOLD NFO: and memories in the making..
ReplyDeleteYou might love it (Viking helmet ride), don't think I would...lol
