Gone...

Mom passed away Tuesday morning January 13th at home surrounded by love.

Dad is doing good, keeping him busy and looking forward... He is already making big road trip plans for us to attend an extended family reunion at the S Dakota ranch in early summer.

  3. Trite words, but so sorry for this loss. A painful empty time, but your Dad is one amazing person and the two of you will get through. They bring us into this world and we help them leave. I hope your memories will be stronger of when she was herself years ago.

  8. My sincere condolences I briefly took-care of my grandmother some twenty-five years ago before she passed away in similar circumstances. She was surrounded by love too.

  10. Dear Brighid,
I am so sorry to learn that your mother has died. From your blogs, it was clear that you have done the very best you could and under difficult circumstances.

We think we will be very relieved when they are gone if their lives were difficult at the end.

But what I have found in the last 3 months since losing my mother, is that I was not ready for her to go.

Losing a parent is one of the profound experiences of life, like childbirth.

I wish you peace. And for your dad too.

  11. ALL: Thank you for the kind words. Dad deserves your beautiful condolences. I do not. I am happy that she is now at peace. But, my mom and I have not been close for a very long time because of some of her words/actions towards mine. Nobody does that to Mine. Nobody. So for me personally to accept your kind words of condolence is wrong. I will pass them on to Dad, and I know he will be pleased. Brig

  12. I am sorry. When my Grandmother passed, I felt the same. Just before she passed she asked to see me. I passed on the moment. It is not that I didn't want to give her forgiveness, but I feared she would screw that moment up too. I am sorry for the loss.
